Range, Abundance, and Seasonal Variations

Along the river between Roma and Falcon Dam in places like Salineño and Chapeño. Usually in September they gather in pre-migratory flocks and then move south [1].

Directions and Maps

Watch for this bird all along the Rio Grande from Roma up, the World Birding Center overlook in Roma or the Salineno and Chapeno sites are good sites to watch for Red-billed Pigeon flying by or sitting up high in the early morning or late evening. Most sightings are March to September, they are rarely seen in winter.
