Regional Information

Range, Abundance, and Seasonal Variations

This bird is a rarity in the Rio Grande Valley but it has been found in recent years at Sabal Palm Grove, where it has attempted to nest. The bulk of their range is in Mexico. Gray-crowned Yellowthroats start singing in late December or January and normally remains at Sabal Palm for much of the year, but it may be unreported from mid-November to late December.
