Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park

  • 760 acres of primarily thorn forest habitat. 6 miles of trails.
  • World Birding Center Headquarters with butterfly gardens, exhibit hall, park shuttle, bike rentals, photo blinds, and observation tower.
  • $5 admission. Open 7am - 10pm.
  • Specialities: Gray Hawks
  • Rare sightings: Blue Buntings ('97) [1], Crimson-collared Grosbeak ('74), Social Flycatcher ('04-05), Piratic Flycatcher ('06), Northern Jacana ('06).
